Melissa Galett

Melissa is a seasoned legal recruiter with a genuine passion for building lasting, mutually beneficial partnerships—between attorneys and law firms, and between counsel and companies. Since 2004, she has successfully placed partners, associates, and legal groups across all practice areas with Am Law 100 and 200 firms, as well as mid-size and boutique practices.

Her expertise also extends to placing in-house counsel with companies ranging from start-ups to mature enterprises across diverse industries nationwide. Melissa identifies attorneys who align with corporate objectives and possess the legal proficiencies needed to drive results. Within legal departments, she places compliance professionals who design, implement, and monitor systems to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory standards.

Melissa understands that no two firms or attorneys are alike. She takes the time to learn each client’s culture, business goals, and each candidate’s career aspirations—presenting accomplished lawyers to compelling clients and enabling valuable hires.

After beginning her career in publishing recruitment, Melissa transitioned into legal recruiting, quickly earning a reputation as a top-performing recruiter. Her natural ability to connect with, assess, and guide attorneys has led to countless successful lateral moves. The referrals she receives are a testament to her dedication and the trust she has built with both candidates and clients.

Melissa holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication with a concentration in Advertising and Marketing from Boston University. 

A native New Yorker, Melissa thrives on the city’s energy and pace. Outside of recruiting, she enjoys skiing, dining out, collaging, and spending time with her family. She is also the co-author of How We Met, published by St. Martin’s Press.
