Throughout her tenure in the industry, she has established herself as a “must know” in recruiting and has built an exceptional network and database of quality connections that aid in her success. She is viewed as an expert Human Resources search partner and has led numerous retained, contained and contingent top level HR searches.
Prior to recruiting, Valerie worked in the software industry where she was an individual contributor as well as a manager with a staff of close to 50 associates. With experience in hiring and talent acquisition, she transitioned to technical recruiting, joining PeopleWare Staffing as a Senior Account Manager and remained there for the next 18 years. While at PeopleWare, Valerie secured startup clients and established firms, providing qualified candidates, handled niche sourcing, conducted interviews and provided on-site management for various clients.
With a keen eye for identifying talent and knack for building teams, Valerie transitioned to Korn Ferry as a Senior Executive Partner in the Human Resources Division, specializing in placing top HR talent in a wide variety of industries throughout the West Coast. Valerie strives to develop strong relationships with clients with specialized searches. She has been a consistent top biller and leader in the Human Resources division. A natural mentor, Valerie enjoys counseling her candidates, connecting them to ideal opportunities and leaving both the candidate and client pleased with the outcome. Valerie has authored several white papers and blogs on HR best practices, DEI, and represents Korn Ferry at local California HR Conferences as well as national SHRM conferences.
Having come from a political and sports family, Valerie maintains a large network of contacts. Valerie enjoys food and wine events, is an avid sports football fan, and is active in a social- and travel-based book clubs.
