Introducing Goliath, Meet David
Introducing Korn Ferry's 6-episode podcast series
Top-down hierarchies suck the fun and creativity out of organizations and a quick, bad decision is often better than a slow, good one. That’s the belief of Jason Trost, the Founder and CEO of Smarkets, one of the world’s largest betting exchanges. He talks to our hosts about the value of political capital, the necessity of risk, and how teaching people to teach themselves is at the core of his start-up’s culture.
Jason Trost moved to London from the United States in 2007 to start Smarkets, one of the world's largest betting exchanges for trading on sport and politics. In a few short years, he has engineered Smarkets into a market leader that has billions of pounds in annual trading volume and has been named one of the fastest-growing companies in Europe. Jason graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in Computer Science and has previously worked at UBS and Great Point Capital.
