Carolyn Aberman is a former practicing attorney and a Sector Leader in Korn Ferry’s Chicago office where she manages a team of recruiters and works with corporations and law firms on their most critical legal and executive hiring needs.
Carolyn joined Korn Ferry after working as a Managing Director and Managing Partner for over a decade with top Chicago-based Legal Recruiting firms.
Prior to recruiting, Carolyn spent fourteen (14) years as a practicing attorney. Her experience includes working for a prestigious boutique labor and employment law firm as well as working as an Associate for over seven (7) years at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.
She also worked as Associate General Counsel for Brunswick Corporation, a publicly-traded global company with sales during her tenure of more than $4.1 billion.
Carolyn also has experience in the not-for-profit world, having worked as a Staff Attorney and then Executive Director of First Defense Legal Aid, after which she spent 10 years as an Executive Board Member.
Carolyn works with corporations, not-for-profits and publicly and privately-held corporations to place high-level legal and executive talent in a wide range of positions. Carolyn’s experience of working in public interest, in a small and top AmLaw firm and in-house, allows her to offer her clients and candidates unique insight to help make matches that lead to long-term success.
Carolyn holds a B.A. in International Relations, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law.
