Senior Client Partner, Executive Pay & Governance

John Ohrnberger is a Senior Client Partner in the Executive Pay & Governance practice. He is based in the firm’s New York office.  

Mr. Ohrnberger has partnered with many boards and senior executives both in an internal role as well as an outside advisor to create and enhance the effectiveness of the board/CEO relationship. He has worked with groups to design and develop reward programs, aligning executive efforts and results with the success of the company. Mr. Ohrnberger’s many years in public accounting and his leadership roles as the head of total rewards provides a grounded perspective on finance, business and individual performance measurement and management. 

Mr. Ohrnberger has worked with major public and private corporations across multiple industries. He has also headed the total rewards function for the past ten years both at a Global Investment Company and most recently at a Fortune 100 company.  His clients and in-house experience range the spectrum from Fortune 100 to pre-IPO companies. He has worked with initial public offerings, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, as well as helped organizations develop new reward philosophies, navigate the regulatory and shareholder outreach strategies and develop approaches to support major changes in business direction. 

Mr. Ohrnberger received his Juris Doctor from St. John’s Law University and has a Bachelor of Arts in political science and history from the State University of New York at Albany.  He is admitted to the New York State Bar.
