Principal, Assessment & Succession
Shaun Carlton-Murray is a Principal in the Assessment & Succession team.
His primary focus is understanding human behaviour in the workplace, applying this expertise to help clients tackle their most complex talent challenges. By identifying, assessing, and nurturing talent, he supports organisations in building robust leadership pipelines and fostering sustainable growth.
Mr. Carlton-Murray's career includes significant experience working cross sector, with a particular interest in technology, pharmaceuticals, professional, and financial services. He takes a collaborative approach with stakeholders, focusing on executive assessment, top team effectiveness, psychometric testing, and job analyses—all deeply rooted in organisational psychology.
Prior to joining Korn Ferry, Mr. Carlton-Murray was a Consultant at a renowned talent strategy firm, where he worked across the full talent lifecycle, delivering comprehensive solutions such as job analysis, talent assessment, and impact measurement across various industries.
He developed tailored leadership frameworks and conducted in-depth behavioural assessments to drive performance. His background in both consulting and in-house roles across private and public sectors, including impactful public sector initiatives that enhanced engagement and diversity, provides him with a comprehensive and well-rounded perspective.
Mr. Carlton-Murray earned an MSc in Organisational Psychology with Distinction from the University of Leeds and a BSc in Psychology with First Class Honours from the University of Northumbria. He is a BPS-qualified Occupational Test User and a certified Strengths Profile coach.
