Susumu Kawai is a Principal of People & Organization Strategy Consulting division at Korn Ferry Japan.

Mr. Kawai has diverse knowledge and experience in HR consulting, and works with leading companies in wide variety of industries.

Mr. Kawai's major recent delivering results for clients include:

  • HR transformation including HR system reconstruction, leadership assessment and development
  • Global job analysis and evaluation, reward and benefit analysis, design and implementation
  • Global and domestic M&A: HR due diligence (DD) and HR management system integration including compensation and benefit integration, and change management advisor in post-merger integration (PMI)

Mr. Kawai has more than 20 year experiences as HR and Organizational consultant.

His specialized areas of expertise mainly cover reward and performance management, competency modeling, change strategy and readiness for strategy execution, job evaluation and measurement, strategic workforce planning, significant workforce adjustment in business revitalization, talent management, leadership assessment and development, organization structure and design, M&A (DD, PMI), stakeholders engagement and communication, etc.

He has extensive experiences in CPG, Hi-Tech, automotive, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, construction, real estate, financial, retail, energy, communication and service industries.

Prior to joining Korn Ferry, Mr. Kawai worked at Pricewatehouse Coopers Japan as a senior manager, and engaged in People & Change practice for leading companies in wide variety of industries. He holds BA Economics from Sophia University in Tokyo and Certified Management Consultant which is officially recognized by the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes.

Mr. Kawai's mother language is Japanese and he is fluent in English.
