He has deep industry expertise in healthcare, life sciences, and consumer goods.
Mr. Starr's special interest is in helping clients to build distinctive and differentiated leadership capabilities that are uniquely geared to achieving marketplace success. Recent projects have included building innovation leadership capabilities for teams in the life sciences industry, building general management capabilities for clients in healthcare analytics, consumer goods, and manufacturing, and helping multinational clients in the technology and professional-service industries groom future leaders in emerging markets.
As a consultant, Mr. Starr is a skilled diagnostician. He engages with clients as a practical strategist who is adept at helping leaders translate vision into action. He is a seasoned designer and facilitator of large-scale executive leadership programs as well as high-touch strategic planning sessions and alignment workshops. Mr. Starr also functions as an executive coach to both individuals and teams.
Prior to joining Korn Ferry, Mr. Starr was a partner in the leadership development practices of both Mercer and Oliver Wyman. His experience also includes leadership and senior consulting roles at Booz Allen Hamilton and PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he held significant revenue, P&L, and people management responsibilities.
Mr. Starr earned a master's in business administration from the Fuqua School of Business of Duke University and a bachelor's degree, with honors, from the University of Delaware.
