Senior Consultant, Leadership Development

As a member of Korn Ferry’s Leadership Development team, Emiel Barrett specializes in coaching executives, teams, and emerging leaders.

For more than 26 years, he has successfully facilitated the untangling of interpersonal and organizational complexities that plague team dynamics. His work is grounded in research and experience in the fields of leadership development, executive presence and coaching, and diversity, equity and inclusion.

Mr. Barrett served in the US Navy for 21 years; during this time, he crafted a focused, direct, and warm approach that wastes no time in engaging with leaders to discover the most equitable solutions for their organizations.

Mr. Barrett has facilitated programs for early-career professionals to executives within industries, including: Pharmaceutical, Government, Education, Finance/Private Equity/Insurance, Sports and Entertainment, Manufacturing, Transportation/Logistics, and Technology.

Prior to joining Korn Ferry, Mr. Barrett was self-employed as an Executive Coach, and the Head of Leadership and Development with the Memphis Grizzlies, where he focused on leadership programs/development, navigating change, and unlocking potential.

Mr. Barrett earned a Doctorate of Education from the University of New England, an M.B.A. from Texas A&M University, and a B.B.A from Northwood University. He is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coaching Federation; a certified practitioner of the MBTI instrument, and an Assistant Professor at the Jack Welch Management Institute.
