Senior Client Partner, China Market Leader, Global Life Sciences

Sonia Wang is a Senior Client Partner and China Market Leader of Global Life Sciences Practice at Korn Ferry.

Ms. Wang has over 30 years of industry experience in Healthcare and Life Sciences. She possesses direct knowledge of the industries including hospital, NGO and Pharmaceuticals together with deep expertise in global HR consulting.  She has undertaken multiple leadership roles, covering R&D, Manufacturing, Commercialization management, as well as HR and  organizational transformation consulting and executive coaching.

Prior to Korn Ferry, Ms. Wang was National General Manager, Healthcare and Life sciences at Hudson Great China. She led the team to provide talent development solution and support to varies clients in the industry. She also conducted lots of successful coaching sessions to both senior executives and MBA students.

Before that, Ms. Wang served as CEO at a local start-up pharmaceutical company. There, she managed the R&D Center and Manufacturing Sites, led the team to break through the bottleneck of registration, and launched the National Phase III clinical trial in cooperation with China well-known academician and leading KOLs, accelerating the commercialization process of multiple product lines.

Prior to that, Ms. Wang was Vice President and  Executive Committee member at Eli Lilly China and Head of Oncology Business Unit. Before that, she served as Senior Marketing Director, National Sales Director and several other marketing leadership positions across all therapeutic areas. She led the team to successfully achieve the extension of mature product life cycle and launch of new products, she also developed a large number of outstanding talents who are now playing important roles in leading companies in the industry.

Ms. Wang has also worked as a rheumatologist in hospital, a teacher in medical school and a project manager in an international well-known NGO.

Ms. Wang is an IECL certificated organizational coach and a core member of China Accelerator for Silk Road Fund.

Ms. Wang holds a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Medicine from Nanjing Medical University.
