Virtual / EX Group Classification Training 2026

This training is designed to enable human resource practitioners and others who are involved with the EX-classification program to evaluate positions in a manner that is consistent with the Executive Group Job Evaluation Standard (EXJES).

Who should attend:

The training  provides the knowledge and skills to enable human resource practitioners  to provide assistance to management in the evaluation of positions at the executive level in the federal public service. This course is intended to provide practitioners with a sufficient level of knowledge to enable them to:

  • Apply the standard under the guidance of a senior specialist
  • Advise management on the principles and concepts of the standard
  • Act as technical specialist/secretary to a departmental evaluation committee

In addition to this primary target audience, the course is suitable for senior human resource  managers who are responsible for managing the EX-Group in their department or agency. Finally, the course is also suitable for senior line managers who  serve as members of evaluation committees.

The course is targeted to a primary audience of experienced classification specialists who should have successfully completed the following Canada School of Public Service course in organization and classification (CHC 105 – Fundamentals of Classification).

The course provides participants with:

  • An understanding of the conceptual framework for the standard
  • An appreciation of the role of the Public Service Human Resources Management Agency of Canada as the manager of the standard
  • Practice in applying the standard an introduction to the EX “Working Conditions” factor
  • An opportunity to discuss issues around EX classification and organization design.

  • March 24, 25, 26:  Noon-3:30PM Eastern
  • April 21, 22, 23: 1:00PM-4:30PM Eastern
  • September 15, 16, 17:  1:00PM-4:30PM Eastern
  • November 24, 25, 26:  Noon-3:30PM Eastern

Please note, the three day virtual classroom sessions are 3.5 hours per day

Dates for the French sessions - Facilitator-led virtual classroom setting:

  • January 20, 21 and 22.   Noon-3:30PM Eastern
  • February 10, 11, 12:  1:00PM-4:30PM Eastern
  • March 10, 11, 12:  Noon-3:30PM Eastern
  • April 14, 15, 16:  1:00PM-4:30PM Eastern
  • September 22, 23, 24: Noon-3:30PM Eastern
  • November 17, 18, 19: 1:00PM-4:30PM Eastern

Please note, the three day virtual classroom sessions are 3.5 hours per day

The registration fee is $2,500 CAD per participant, plus applicable taxes (includes the provision of training binders).
